Course Description

In the first episode of 2021, Michelle is joined by Lane Rials, MS CCC-SLP, Regional Consultant for Control Bionics to celebrate 21st-century cutting edge EBP for AAC.  Michelle and Lane discuss how our own implicit biases in AAC can hinder our patient’s progress, how accessing AAC for individuals with complex mobility needs can be achieved, and how Neural Nod utilizes EMG to give a voice to those in need.  If you are on the hunt for the latest evolution in functional AAC SGD to give your little ones the ability to make their wants known, then make sure you tune in for this hour!

By the end of this PodCourse, participants will be able to identify and describe:

  • 3 access points for SGD AAC.
  • Implicit bias and offer 2 examples.
  • How the Neural Nod uses EMG for an access point for a SGD AAC.
