Course Description

In this episode, Michelle is joined by the esteemed Crystal Murphree-Holden, MA CCC-SLP, who is the Director of Distance Education/Clinical Instructor at the University of South Carolina, as well as VP of Higher Education with SCSHA. She was also a recent recipient of the Honors of the Association for SCSHA. In this episode Crystal and Michelle attempt to clarify the muddied waters of SLPA vs. SLP Scope of Practice! Crystal A. Murphree-Holden, MA CCC-SLP

Crystal Murphree-Holden is currently the Director of Distance Education and Clinical Instructor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Carolina. She has been on faculty at USC since 2004 and is involved in academic, clinical education and instructional aspects of graduate student training, and previously served as adjunct clinical instructor for twelve years. Crystal’s professional experiences included public schools, private practice, rehabilitation facilities, community clinics and university settings.

Crystal currently serves as Vice President on Higher Education and CE Content Consultant for the South Carolina Speech-Language-Hearing Association (SCSHA). She is a SCSHA Past President and also served as Professional Standards-Ethical Practices Chair for many years. Crystal has presented in the areas of ethics and supervision at local, state and national levels.
