Course Description
In this episode, Michelle is joined once again by the ever-so-funny Gregg Black, MD, of Carolina Allergy and Asthma Consultants, PA. Dr. Black, from Columbia, SC, (who hails from the upstate by way of AL, NZ, and New Orleans). In this episode they put the microscope to milk and soy testing for our youngest of young patients…hoping to enlighten clinicians around the world as to the pitfalls of changing to formulas too quickly…and how to safely proceed in the perilous presence of eczema, while also tackling the other muddy mysteries of milk!
Objective
By the end of this PodCourse, participants will be able to identify and describe:
- 3 different s/s of a milk allergy.
- How the body processes cow’s milk vs hydrolyzed formula.
- The difference between EHF and AAF formulas and when one is appropriate for a patient.

Gregg Black, MD
Gregg Black, 2005 graduate of MUSC, completed his residency at University of Alabama and his Allergy Fellow at Tulane University Medical Center in 2012. He has had several publications including a recent article “Facial Flushing with Food: The Auriculotemporal Syndrome” in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, as well as completed numerous presentations at the state and national level. He was recently recognized by his peers for his dedication to his field, by being elected as the President of the SCAAIS Society.
